Brian Wilson Has A “Between Two Ferns”-Style Web Series That You’ll Watch If You Like Fantastic Things

Eccentric Giants closer Brian Wilson went down for the season in April after undergoing Tommy John surgery. B-Weez has had plenty of time on his hands to entertain his fans, and has since announced some games (he claims he’ll win an Emmy), attended the ESPYS with a giant Sasquatch, and, most recently, filmed a mini web series (also with a giant Sasquatch).
Wilson and his hairy pal premiered their first episode of “Uncaged With Sasquatch,” an online series hosted on Break Media. According to the Huffington Post, the episodes will be rolled out every Monday. Break Media VP and General Manager Mitch Rotter had this to say.
“We first approached Brian with the idea and he was very, very into it. Beyond into it,” Rotter told The Huffington Post. “In fact, the day after his Tommy John surgery, a week after we’d discussed the idea, he tweeted a photoshopped picture of him and sasquatch. And taking sasquatch to the ESPYS was his idea.”
HuffPost also added this description:
The series is a mock public access talk show (“Painting with Cats: Modern Masterpieces” appears as the next program on the faux schedule), and clearly borrowed inspiration from Zach Galifianakis’s “Between Two Ferns.” (Wilson and sasquatch are literally sitting between two ferns.)
As you can probably tell from the screencap, it’s heavily influenced by Between Two Ferns. We watched episode one, and we liked it: Brian Wilson is just a funny dude, plain and simple.
